For context, Fai is from the manga with varying canon points; post Chronicles is my default. In order to have him take part in some memes, such as truth memes, I assume forced compulsion.

Fai is what one would call a Stepford smiler, and he's made mistakes in his past. So, any confidence or pride in his personality is simply an act and not a reflection of how he feels under most circumstances.
